On the 5th October, India’s Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases with 74,000 plus single day spike crossed 66 lakhs or 6.6 millions.

According to the Union Health Ministry, India on the 5th of October logged 74,442 COVID-19 cases and 903 deaths.

The updated figure is available on the official website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)

As per the MoHFW website, India has a total of 6,623,815 positive cases, of which 9,34,427 are active cases, approximately 55 lakhs recoveries and 1,02,815 deceased.

The overall recovery rate stands at 84.13%.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 vaccine is likely to be available by July 2021 in India.

The Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on the 4th of October said, the National Democratic Allinace (NDA) led Government plans to receive and utilise 400-500 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine by July 2021 in India.

The vaccine will be distributed based on pre-decided priority and in a programmed manner and it would be appropriately controlled to avoid any diversion or black marketing, he added.
