The daily cases of the Wuhan virus are rising constantly in India, taking the active cases tally to over 1 lakh mark, on the 30th of June, Thursday.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) released the data on the 1st of July, and confirmed 17,070 new cases, 23 fatalities and 14,413 recoveries in the past 24 hours.  With this, India currently has 1,07,189 active cases, with a rise of over 5,000 cases in the 24 hours.  This is the first time in the last 122 days, India saw over 1 lakh active COVID-19 cases.

With the data revealed at 8:00 A.M.on Thursday, India has a total tally of  4,34,52,164, Wuhan virus cases, of which 4,28,36,906, are recovered/discharged cases, 1,07,189 are active cases and  5,25,139 death cases, till date.  The new cases were confirmed after conducting over 5 lakh sample tests for the Wuhan virus, taking the tally to over 87 crores till date.

Furthermore, the daily positive rate was recorded at 4.16 per cent and the weekly positive rate at 3.72 per cent, according to the ministry.  In addition, the active cases comprise 0.25% of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is at 98.55% with a 1.21% fatality rate. 

Concerned about the rise, many states called for mandatory mask wearing in public and urged people to abide by the Wuhan virus protocol.

Meanwhile, under the nationwide vaccination drive, India administered a total of over 197 crore vaccine doses.
