Monkeypox cases are rising rapidly in India, with a total tally of nine cases to date, the 4th of August.

According to sources, on the 3rd of  August, Delhi reported its fourth case of Monkeypox.  In Delhi, a 31-year-old woman tested positive for the disease, confirmed by the Delhi Health Department.  Notably, this is the first case of Monkeypox amongst women in India.

Furthermore, as per the National Capital Health Department, the patient is currently being treated at Lok Nayak Jaiprakash hospital in Delhi.  She has been sent to an isolated ward, under the supervision of government-run hospital doctors.

With this, India is having 9 active cases of monkeypox, of which 5 are from Kerala and 4 are from Delhi.

Meanwhile, the Union Government of Home Ministry also issued a set of guidelines for the monkeypox disease.
