On the 31st of December, Saturday, India reported 226 fresh cases of the Wuhan Virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Union Health Department released the health bulletin in the morning hours.  Although the cases declined compared to the 30th of December, India is witnessing a rise, mostly over 200 cases of the Wuhan Virus.

With the rise in COVID-19 cases, the nation reported 3,653 active cases of the Wuhan Virus, with an active case rate at 0.01%.  In addition, the weekly and daily positivity rates were 0.15% and 0.12%, respectively.

In addition, the recovery from the Wuhan Virus including 179 patients in the last 24 hours, increased the tally to 4,41,44,029. 

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.80%.  Furthermore, speaking of fatalities due to the Wuhan Virus in India, the nation registered 3 fatalities taking the tally to 5,30,702 deaths.

Moreover, the new cases were confirmed after conducted 1,87,983 tests in the past 24 hours, confirmed the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR.)

In addition, under the nationwide vaccination drive, India administered  220.10 crore vaccine doses, including 91,732 vaccines administered in the last 24 hours.

On the other hand, the Union Ministry of Health and MoHFW urged the people of India to be cautious and follow the COVID-19 protocols including wearing a face masks and maintaining social distancing.
