The rapid increase of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 infection is not only creating panic amongst Indians, with a question, whether the lockdown would continue.

On the 13th of April, India reported 9,222 COVID-19 cases, out of which 7,805 are active cases, 1,086 are recovered cases and 331 deaths.  With just one day left in the end of the 21 day Nationwide lockdown, the question is what would be the situation after the lockdown ends.

Concerned about the drastic rise in COVID-19 positive cases, a few state governments took independent decisions and extended lockdown in their states.   However, many Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) run states are still waiting for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision. Telangana, Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka and  Odisha announced to extend the lockdown till the 30th of April.

In a recent meeting with the chief ministers of states, PM Modi hinted at an extension in the lockdown.  However, no official announcement regarding it came yet.

Since the lockdown ends on the 14th of April, Nation is waiting to witness PM Modi’s call on the lockdown extension or the alternative to curb the spread of the virus in India.

Meanwhile PM Modi this time assured to not only save lives but also plan a strategy to save livelihood with this statement, “Jaan bhi, Jahan bhi.”

The Nationwide lockdown is scheduled to end on the 14th of April.

Stay tuned for further updates.
