The Central Government’s move to re start a  few trains connected from Delhi, created differences in the Indian National Congress (INC.)

On the 11th of May,  Radhika Khera, an INC leader in Delhi questioned P. Chidambaram, the  former Finance Minister and a leader of the INC for his support in  re starting the inter state train services amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Ms. Khare’s question came after P. Chidambaram  took to Twitter and said,  “We welcome the decision of the Government to cautiously start operations of inter state passenger trains.  The same modest opening should be started with road transport and air transport.”

He further added, “The only way economic and commercial activity can effectively begin, is to open road, rail and air services for passengers and goods.”

Ms. Radhika reacted and opposed this move and posted a tweet addressing Mr. Chidambaram.  She said, “Sir, although we have to learn to live with COVID-19, we also need to see that the Government has failed to control things.  We have seen the biggest spike in cases so far today 4,213.  We need to learn from faults of other nations and wait for the curve to flatten before going towards normalcy.”

The tweets came after the Indian Railway Ministry, on the 10th of May, announced to re start 15 air conditioned trains from the 12th of May from New Delhi to several cities.
