The Indian National Congress (INC) along with 12 parties sought time to meet with the President of India over the three farm bills.

Recently, proposed by the Central Government, the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha passed three bills.

The decision to meet with the President of India was taken after an all opposition party meeting was held on the morning of the 21st of September. The meeting was led by the Indian National Congress and 12 parties opposing the farm bills.

Shaktisinh Gohil, the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the INC said, 12 parties have sought time to meet president Ram Nath Kovind over the passage of the farm bills in the Rajya Sabha.

The parties have requested the president to not give his assent for the bills that were passed in the upper house of the Parliament “without voting.”

The three farm bills, which have been approved by the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha would not be an act until the president of India gives his assent.

Meanwhile, due to the rise of the Novel Coronavirus cases, the parliament session is likely to be curtailed early.

Initially, the session was scheduled to end on the 1st of October, but would end on the 23rd of September.
