The government informed on Monday, former Intelligence Bureau director Dineshwar Sharma will take charge to lead a “sustained dialogue with all stakeholders” in Jammu and Kashmir. This discussion aims to find a permanent political solution to the issues of Kashmir.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh addressed a press conference where he stated, Sharma would handle an open talk with all the elected representatives, political parties and other organizations of Jammu and Kashmir.

Singh was questioned if the separatist Hurriyat Conference would be included in the dialogue. The Minister responded it would be left up to Sharma to decide who will attend the meeting.

After the announcement, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah tweeted,”Will keep an open mind and wait to see results of the dialogue process.”
