Manohar Lal Khattar, the Chief Minister of Haryana, on the 25th of August was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.

Mr. Lal was admitted for the treatment of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

On the evening of the 24th of August, Manohar Lal Khattar tested positive of the deadly Novel Coronavirus and was shifted to the hospital in the early morning of Tuesday, the 25th of August. The news of Manohar Lal being COVID-19 positive was confirmed by him through his official Twitter handle.

Mr. Lal said, “I was tested for Novel Coronavirus today. My test report has returned positive. I appeal to all colleagues and associates who came in my contact over the last week to get themselves tested. I request my close contacts to move into strict quarantine immediately.”

Recently, the Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta also tested positive for the COVID-19 infection.

The Haryana Assembly session will start on August 26. It is mandatory for all MLAs of the Haryana Assembly, including the Speaker, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and ministers to get their COVID-19 tests conducted; and only those whose results are negative will be allowed to enter the building.

Manohar Lal Khattar was said to be infected by the Novel Coronavirus after he met Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the Jal Shakti Minister of India, who recently tested COVID-19 positive.

Soon after the news of Gajendra Singh Shekhawat being positive, Manohar Lal Khattar underwent a COVID-19 test and tested negative.

However, on the 24th of August, once again took a Novel Coronavirus test and tested positive.

Currently, Mr. Khattar is at Medanta Hospital and undergoing treatment for the Infection.
