In the early hours of the 26th of June, the Goa-Delhi Rajdhani Express derailed in the Maharashtra Tunnel of Ratnagiri station. The incident took place at 4:15 A.M., on Saturday 

According to sources, the incident took place due to the boulder crash in the tunnel while the train was passing the tunnel. The Nizamuddin-Madgaon Rajdhani Superfast Special was 325 km away from Mumbai and was departed from Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi and was to arrive at Madgaon, Goa.

However, during the journey, while most of the passengers were sleeping, the 0241 express (Nizamuddin-Madgaon Rajdhani Superfast Special) derailed. According to the authorities, no casualties or injuries has been reported.

Meanwhile, A Konkan Railway Corportation (KRC) official said that an accident relief van with re railing equipment has started for the accident site to ensure early clearance of the blocked coastal rail route.
