In Indian metro cities, the fuel rates, petrol, and diesel increased once again on the 5th of April, Tuesday. Amid opposition’s protest, the fuel rates in Indian metro cities are rising everyday, taking the overall pricing up by Rs. 9.20.
Petrol and diesel in Delhi now cost Rs. 104.61 and Rs. 95.87 per liter respectively. While in Mumbai, petrol cost Rs. 119.67 per liter after an increase of 84 paise and diesel at Rs. 103.92, increased by 85 paise.
Petrol in Bengaluru will now cost Rs. 110.25 per liter, following an increase of 84 paise, while diesel, hiked by 78 paise, will now cost Rs 94.01 per liter. Out of all the states, Telangana residents will have to pay the most for fuel. Petrol is priced at Rs. 120.82 per liter, and diesel will cost Rs. 106.70 per liter here.
This is the 13th revision in the rates of fuel, in the past two weeks, following which the opposition leaders staged a protest in the ongoing Parliament session. In the Rajya Sabha proceedings, the leader of the Indian National Congress, the Trinamool Congress, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, and other Members of Parliament (MPs) created a ruckus, demanding discussion over the constant fuel price hike.
However, the Rajya Sabha Speaker Mr. Om Birla, on the 5th of April, adjourned the session twice, once at 11:00 A.M., and the second at 2:00 P.M.
Furthermore, the constant rise in prices of petrol and diesel is burning pockets of consumers, especially middle-class people, who own motorcycles, and bikes for their daily commute, to avoid State-run buses.
