Arjun Bharadwaj, an engineering student of Mumbai committed suicide from the 19th floor of Taj Lands hotel of Bandra. He made a Facebook live stream before committing suicide. The 24 year old checked into the hotel on Monday morning and hours later jumped from the window of the suite. The security guards heard a loud thud and on rushing to the spot found Arjun in a pool of blood.

Arjun, whose family resides in Bengaluru, before jumping posted a suicide tutorial on Facebook. In the short video, he said, ‘Step 1: Write notes to people, Step 2: get drunk, Step 3: Enjoy the view, Step 4: Have bacon Pasta.” He was seen smoking and drinking in the video and he ended the video by saying ‘See you on the other side’.

He apparently broke the double pane window with a chair and jumped from the room. On searching the room, the police found various notes, ‘Im a drug addict, I don’t wanna live anymore and hence committing suicide. The youngster has been depressed for quite some time and made up his mind before committing suicide. The police had identified the boy easily as he submitted proper documents before checking into the hotel.

The workers of the hotel had to struggle in retrieving the body as his body fell on the 11th-floor terrace and they had to crawl through ventilator shafts to reach the body. The body was sent to post mortem by the police. A spokesperson of Taj said: “We will extend our full cooperation to all the investigating authorities concerned. Our heartfelt condolences are with the family of the bereaved.” The Mumbai police tweeted: “Deeply bereaved with the suicide of a young boy in the city. We urge the youngsters to reach out to us #WeAreListening.”

Arjun had met his parents a few days ago and his father, a businessman, had been worried about the mental condition of his son.
