Dr APJ Abdul Kalam – Live Updates

The funeral of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam will take place at Rameshwaram on Thursday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari paid their last respect towards the former President APJ Abdul Kalam by laying wreaths.(1:16pm)

Soon after the Prime Minister and President paid tributes to the “People President”, the mortal will be kept on the gun carriage. The mortal will be taken to Dr Kalam’s residence at 10 Rajaji Marg. All the dignitaries will be paying the tribute at his house till 4 pm. After which the general public will be allowed  to pay tribute to the “People President”.

Prominent leaders like BJP president Amit Shah, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and BJP’s Najma Heptulla paid tributes to Dr Kalam. Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi also arrived at Rajaji Marg to pay homage(1:55pm). Several other ministers will be offering their last tribute to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
President Pranab Mukherjee said,” I received 2-3 poems which he wrote. He used to quietly write when we went to pay respects to soldiers. He had a mighty mind.”
