On Wednesday, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley countered the Opposition’s Black Day protest against Demonetisation. The Minister said November 8th would instead be celebrated as an Anti Black Money Day.

Jaitley defended the note ban and said it was an anti black money drive. He further said ministers from Modi’s government would travel around the country to spread the measures taken to stop corruption.

The ruling party made this announcement a day after the Opposition party declared 8th November as a Black Day.

At a joint press conference, leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad said, “One can say this is a scam of the century. Eighteen political parties have decided to hold protests in every state in their capacity against the Government’s decision which caused hardship to the people. Never ever in the world people have died because of a government policy.”
