Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) President, called for a meeting with the party legislators and senior leaders.

The major motive behind this sudden AAP meeing is to discuss the political turmoil and crisis the AAP is facing.  It is to be noted, the AAP President Mr. Kejriwal blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders for poaching the AAP Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and leaders.

Addressing the media, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal said, the BJP led Central Government tried to bribe and threaten many MLAs of the AAP, to win Delhi, causing trouble in the party and AAP Government.

The meeting which started at 11:00 A.M., at the CM Residence is underway to discuss various ongoing issues in the party.  Some of the major discussions during the called emergency meeting would be the recent Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raids at the residence of Mr. Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, the Delhi Excise Liquor Scam, the attempts of the BJP to poach AAP MLAs.

Chaired by Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, the meeting will also discuss the ways and the future course of action to fight against such activities of the BJP.

Meanwhile, after today’s meeting, the AAP has also called for a special Assembly session to address the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) probes and raids targeting the AAP ministers and MLAs.  The special session would be held on the 26th of August, Friday.

Notably, the CBI and the ED registered a case against Mr. Manish Sisodia and 12 others, for alleged money laundering and liquor scam in 2021-2022.  However, the AAP Minister Mr. Manish Sisodia denied the allegations and said it to be the evil attempts of the BJP to target the Delhi CM Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, who is likely to compete against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2024 General elections.

On the other hand, the AAP has 62 MLAs in the 70 member Delhi Assembly.
