Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on the 5th of February, invited Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India and a star campaigner of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) to debate with him in public.

With regard to this, ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, Arvind Kejriwal of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said, “Debate is good, come, let us debate. Amit Shah said vote for us, we will give you the chief minister.”  He further said, “Delhi wants to know why they should vote for the BJP.”

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal gave a deadline of 1:00 P.M., to the BJP to announce the CM candidate.  After the deadline, Kejriwal asked Amit Shah to debate with him. Arvind Kejriwal said, “The BJP hasn’t told the people their CM candidate. Shah says the public should vote in his name and he will choose the CM.”  He further added, “They want to know from the Country’s Home Minister why he cannot get the Shaheen Bagh road opened, why do dirty politics? How is this son of Delhi a terrorist?”

The AAP President challenged the BJP to name candidates for the CM’s post.  Mr. Kejriwal asked if Manoj Tiwari, Smriti Irani, Vijay Goel and Hardeep Puri are likely to be nominated as candidates for the CM’s post.

With these developments, the last day to campaign for the Delhi elections comes closer. All the parties contesting the elections are allowed to campaign till 5:00 P.M., on the 6th of February.

The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on the 8th of February and the results would be announced on the 11th of February.  The major parties in the fray are the BJP, the Indian National Congress (INC) and the AAP.
