On the 8th of July, India recorded 7,42,417 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

In the last 24 hours, India reported another biggest single day spike of 22,752 cases.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR,) on the 7th of July, India tested 2,62,679 samples, out of which 22,752 tested positive for the virus.

With this, India has 7,42,417 positive cases, of which 2,64,944 are active cases, 4,56,831 are cured/discharged/migrated and 20,642 death cases.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare confirmed the figures on the morning of the 8th of July.

The majority of COVID-19 cases reported in India are from Maharashtra (2,17,121,) Tamil Nadu (1,18,594,) and Delhi 1,02,831.

Besides Maharashtra,Tamil Nadu and Delhi, Telugu states, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are also witnessing huge spikes in the cases of the Novel Coronavirus.

In the last 24 hours, Telangana reported 1,000 plus cases, whereas Andhra Pradesh recorded 1,700 plus fresh cases.

Other states which have 20,000 plus cases are: Gujarat (37,636,) Uttar Pradesh (29,968) West Bengal (23,827) Karnataka (26,815,) Rajasthan (21,404,) Telangana (27,612) and Andhra Pradesh (21,197.)
