On the 7th of July, India reported 22,252 fresh cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 infection.

This is the highest spike of the Coronavirus infection till date, taking the tally to 7,19,665.

Despite precautionary measures and strict guidelines in different states, the number of COVID-19 cases are increasing rapidly. 

Death cases due to the infection also increased to 20,160 with 467 new fatalities. 

The fresh cases of the deadly virus was confirmed by the Union Health Ministry on the morning of the 7th of July. 

In addition, the Union Ministry shared recovery data, which showed a steady rise.  With 15,500 recoveries in the last 24 hours, as many as 4,39,947 cured/discharged till dadaye.

Currently, the recovery rate of India is approximately 61%.

Meanwhile, India  has only 2,59,557 active cases of the Novel Coronavirus.   The recovered cases are more than 50% of the total. 

Despite better recovery rate and increased number of cured patients, everyday spike is a matter of concern, especially in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. 

Recently, with 6.90 lakh cases, India also became 3rd worst COVID-19 hit Nation, leaving behind Russia. 

The other two nations with the highest number of the Novel Coronavirus cases are the United States of America (U.S.A.,) and Brazil.
