After a thumping victory in Karnataka Assembly elections, the Indian National Congress is now in a dilemma with the Chief Minister (CM) face.

Notably, the Indian National Congress is all set to form the Karnataka Government as it secured 135 of 224 seats and dethroned the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)  However, after the victory, the party is set to face a tough situation to choose the new Chief Minister of Karnataka.  Both Siddaramaiah and D.K. Shivakumar, senior leaders of the Party are eyeing the CM post.

In regard to making a decision and choosing the CM, the Indian National Congress has called for a crucial high level meeting in Delhi.  Chaired by Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge, the President of the Indian National Congress, the senior leaders and leaders of Karnataka would discuss the next CM.  However, a final decision would be taken by Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge.

Meanwhile, with the victory of the INC in southern states, the BJP has lost power in the southern region.  It is to be noted, in the southern states, Karnataka was the only state which was ruled by the BJP Government.
