PM Narendra Modi congratulated weightlifter Bindyarani Devi, who secured a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022.  On the second day of the Commonwealth Games at Birmingham, the United Kingdom (U.K.,) Indian athlete Bindyarani Devi bagged a silver medal in women’s 55-kg weightlifting.

PM Narendra Modi extended congratulations wishes and tweeted, “This accomplishment is a manifestation of her tenacity and it has made every Indian very happy. I wish her the very best for her future endeavours”.

Meanwhile, Commonwealth Games 2022, which kickstarted on July 28, will see a power-packed series of events on its third day. Indian athletes will participate in various events like badminton, table tennis, Women’s cricket against rivals Pakistan, gymnastics and many other games.

After winning two silver medals at the CWC in Birmingham, India is now eying the gold medal. Action for the third day will start at 1:00 PM, on the 31st of July.
