The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the 5th of October, raided properties of the Indian National Congress (INC) leader D.K. shivakumar and his brother D.K. Suresh. 

The CBI officials started raid at 6:00 A.M., of the 5th of October and raided 15 locations including Mr. Shivakumar and D.K. Suresh’s residence, business establishments and others in an alleged corruption case. 

Approximately 60 officials of CBI raided 15 locations.  One of the residences being raided is that of Iqbal Hussain, a close aide of Shivakumar. 

Senior INC leader Siddaramaiah took to Twitter and said,  “@BJP4India has always tried to indulge in vindictive politics & mislead public attention. The latest CBI raid on @KPCCPresident @DKShivakumar ‘s house is another attempt to derail our preparation for bypolls. I strongly condemn this.”

Meanwhile, B.S. Yediyurappa, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, said, “What else can we expect after the expose on @bsybjp by @INCKarnataka.”

According to sources, the alleged corruption case was registered by the CBI in 2019.

The case was registered after the inputs shared by the Enforcement Directorate over a money laundering and tax evasion proceedings of the Income Tax Department.
