The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to finalize its candidate for the vice presidential post.

On the 16th of July, Saturday, the BJP would hold its parliamentary board meet, which would be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, comprising party President Mr. J.P. Nadda and other BJP leaders.

During the meeting, the BJP is expected to discuss the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate for the Vice Presidential election post.  Furthermore, the BJP leaders also convey the name to their allies and take a final call over the candidate.  After the meeting, the BJP is likely to announce the candidate’s name for the Vice Presidential elections, scheduled in August.

The Vice President elections are scheduled to be held on the 6th of August and the nominations would be filed by the 19th of July.  The Members of the Parliament (MPs) of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha elect the Vice President of Inda.

Meanwhile, Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu is the current Vice President of India, whose term is set to end on the 10th of August.
