The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a two day orientation programme for the  Members of Parliament (MPs) of the BJP.

The programme started at 10:00 A.M., on the 3rd of August.  During today’s session, the senior leaders will discuss topics such as discipline, parliamentary procedures and ideological issues.

The attendance of all the BJP members is mandatory.  The decision to conduct the programme came after recent violations of rules in the Lok Sabha and an increased number of absent Members of the Parliament (MPs.)  Another reason behind organising the programme is to inform the newly joined MPs about the BJP and its ideology.

A senior leader of the BJP said, “Many MPs are first timers. There are also those who have joined us from other political parties. It thus becomes important to organise events that will not only familiarise them with the party but also lay down what is expected of them.”

The programme will be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP Working President J.P. Nadda.

Later in the day, Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh will speak about the role of MPs and MLAs in the Government and the Parliament.

The programme started at 10: 00 A.M., with an inaugural speech by J.P. Nadda.  There will also be a speech by PM Modi on the 4th of August.

Stay tuned for further updates.
