The recent release of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s song Besharam Rang, of movie Pathaan, created a controversy.

Recently, Mr. Nirottam Mishra, the Madhya Pradesh Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader objected to the song, especially with the use of a saffron colour costume, which has been wore by Deepika Padukone.

Mr. Nirottam Mishra issued warnings over it and has sent out an ultimatum again regarding the song.   He also demanded that the film’s producers either delete ‘objectionable’ sequences from the song Besharam Rang or face the law in Madhya Pradesh, while releasing.

Besides BJP leaders, even the Indian National Congress (INC) leaders also join the issue and raised objections and described the song as an obscene portrayal of women.  One Supreme Court advocate Mr. Vineet Jindal has even filed a complaint with the Union Ministry, over the Besharam Rang song.

Furthermore, citizens of Madhya Pradesh also expressed outrage and burnt movie posters of the film, saying the makers have insulted the saffron wear, a symbol of Hinduism.

This is not the first time that a Bollywood movie gained criticism and ban ahead of its release or objection over scenes shown in the film, hurting religious sentiments.

Notably, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Pathaan is set to release on the 25th of January 2023.
