Mr. Bhupendra Patel took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, on the 13th of September, Monday.

The swearing ceremony was scheduled at 2:20 P.M., at Raj Bhavan, Gujarat. Mr. Acharya Devvrat, the Governor of Gujarat, administered the oath of the office to the newly elected Mr. Bhupendra Patel.

After the recent resignation of Mr. Vijay Rupani, the former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Bhupendra Patel became the 17th CM of the State. On the 12th of September, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislative Assembly members unanimously elected Mr. Bhupendra Patel.

After being appointed, Mr. Patel met the Gujarat Governor and stake claim to form his Government. A day after the meeting, the new Chief Minister took the oath of office. Mr. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister and other senior leaders of the BJP attended the swearing in ceremony. In the wake of the ongoing Wuhan virus pandemic (COVID-19,) the path taking ceremony was a low key event with limited guests.

It is also learnt that a meeting is also scheduled after the oath taking ceremony, during which a decision to revamp the Gujarat Cabinet would be taken. Amit Shah would also be a part of the scheduled meeting.

With this, the Gujarat Government would undergo a complete reboot with the new Cabinet under the leadership of Mr. Bhupendra Patel.
