On the evening of the 28th of May, a doctor couple was shot dead in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. The couple were identified as Dr. Sudip Gupta and his wife Seema Gupta.
The incident took place around 5:00 P.M., when the 46 year old doctor and his wife were traveling in their car. As per the CCTV footage, two bikers/assailants identified as Anuj Gurjar and Mahesh Gurjar shot the couple in Bharatpur, Rajasthan.
The murder of the doctor couple is suspected to be a matter of revenge. According to the police, the doctor couple was charged in a murder case and were out on bail. In 2019, Dr. Sudip Gupta and his wife Seema Gupta and mother allegedly killed a woman by setting fire to their house. The woman was said to be in a relationship with Dr. Sudip Gupta. In the 2019 incident, the woman and his five year old son died, following which the victim’s family filed a case against the three, Sudip Gupta, his wife and his mother. All the three accused were in jail since 2019, until recently when they got bail.
Rajendra Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Atal Bandh police station said, “The doctor, Sudip Gupta (46) and his wife Seema Gupta (44) who is also a doctor were travelling by their car in the city when they were shot dead by two bike-borne men. The couple used to run a private hospital. The doctor and his wife both were in jail till last year for the murder of a woman with whom the doctor allegedly had a… relationship.”
The Bharatpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Devendra Bishnoi investigated the murder case of the couple doctor and after preliminary investigation, he indicated the incident to be a case of revenge killing.
The police registered a case against the accused Anuj Gurjar and Mahesh Gurjar and launched an investigation. As of now, both the accused are absconding and police are trying to arrest them.
