Karnataka state capital Bengaluru is witnessing heavy to very heavy rains, leading to waterlogged situations in several parts of the region.  The difficulties of Bengaluru citizens continued on the 6th of September, Tuesday.  In many areas people witnessed issues, with streets waterlogged, houses and vehicles partially inundated and vehicular and people’s movement being disturbed.  Many students and office people are using boats and tractors to cross the streets submerged in water.

Concerned with the rainfall situation and damages of property, roads and other issues including repair works, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government decided to release relief funds.  Mr. Basavaraj Bommai, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, on the 5th of September, announced Rs. 300 crores, to deal with the damages caused due to heavy to very heavy rainfall in the City. 

The State Government held a meeting and took a decision regarding the relief measures to re construct damages incurred due to rain.  

The Water Supply & Sewerage Board (BWSSB), deputy commissioners of 15 districts, and senior officials attended the meeting, assuring repair works in the City soon.
