Baba Ka Dhaba Owner Hospitalised After Alleged Attempt At Suicide

Internet fame Baba Ka Dhaba owner Kanta Prasad, has been hospitalised at Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi. 

According to sources, Kanta Prasad allegedly committed suicide on the night of the 17th of June.

The Delhi Police gave a statement a day after, the 18th of June and said, they received a phone call late Thursday that a man, who allegedly attempted suicide, has been brought to the hospital. Atul Thakur, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of South Delhi said, “the 80-year-old was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital last night. He was brought in an unconscious state after he consumed alcohol and sleeping pills. Statement of his son has been recorded for the same. Further probe underway.” The reason for his alleged suicide is yet to be known.

Later, the Safdarjung Hospital released a statement and updated about the health condition of Kanta Prasad. The statement read, “He was admitted in the ICU ward on ventilator support. His condition is critical but stable.”

In 2020, Kanta Prasad and his roadside stall Baba Ka Dhaba received instant attention after YouTuber Gaurav Wasan had shot and shared their stall. The video went viral and soon both Kanta Prasad and his wife received a lot of donations. With the donated money, the couple had put up a bigger unit and established a better restaurant. However, due to a big budget and less income, the couple had to close the establishment and go back to their roadside stall.

Besides this, the couple alleged Gaurav Wasan for misusing money raised from donations and filed a first information report (FIR) with the Delhi Police regarding the same. However, recently, KantaPrasad was again seen on a viral video retracting his allegation against Wasan and accepting his mistakes.

As of now, the Delhi Police are investigating the suicide matter of Baba Ka Dhaba owner.
