Auto driver Anoop, a residence of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, has won this year’s Onam bumper lottery of Rs. 25 crores.

Anoop had reportedly purchased the ticket from Bhagavathy Agency on the 17th of September.

According to sources, Anoop is a regular autorickshaw driver, who once worked as a chef.

The lucky draw was done by the state Finance Minister KN Balagopal in the presence of transport minister Antony Raju.

Furthermore, this year’s Onam prize is the highest amount in the history of Kerala lucky draw.  Besides the bumper prize of Rs. 25 crores, there were other prizes were Rs.5 crores and Rs. 1 crore.

In 2022 Onam, there were 67 lakh lottery tickets, which costed Rs. 500.  It is to be noted, the lottery tickets are the major source of income for the Kerala Government.
