Due to the ongoing riots in West Bengal, BJP Chief Amit Shah formed a four member committee to report on the issue. The BJP Chief asked the four senior BJP leaders to visit the State and submit a detailed report to him about the violence.

Mr. Shah condemned the riots that occurred in Asansol in West Bengal stating it was an unfortunate and painful incident. The committee consists of BJP national Vice President Om Mathur, Spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain and MP Roopa Ganguly and B. D. Ram.  

The BJP attacked West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the violence. The party stated Banerjee was busy with politics while her state was burning.

On Monday, a clash broke out between two groups during a Ram Navami procession. The religious riot led to the death of two people in Asansol in West Bengal. In the riots, a Deputy Commissioner of Police lost his hand when a bomb was thrown at him.
