The Congress Working Committee (CWC,) on the 6th of August, conducted a meeting with the Members of Parliament (MPs) of the Indian National Congress (INC) in Delhi.

Sonia Gandhi, the Chairperson of the All India Congress Committee (AICC,) chaired the meeting, which started at 10:30 A.M., ahead of the session of the Lok Sabha.

The meeting was said to be organised to discuss the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, 2019.

On the 5th of August, Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India, introduced the Bill in the Rajya Sabha.

The Bill was approved in the Rajya Sabha and will be tabled in the Lok Sabha on the 6th of August, during the Parliamentary session.

The Bill proposes the bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories (UTs.)  Jammu and Kashmir will be one UT and Ladakh will the other.

The session of the Lok Sabha will begin at 11:00 A.M.
