On the 9th of December, Thursday, the Union Defence Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh, addressed the ongoing Winter Parliament session over the Tamil Nadu Copper crash incident

Mr. Rajnath Singh started the address by paying tribute to the victims of the IAF helicopter crash. He paid tribute to those who died in the incident including the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife Ms. Madhulika Rawat and 11 others. 

Mr. Rajnath Singh said, “The last rites of CDS General Bipin Rawat will be performed with full military honours. The last rites of other military personnel will be performed with appropriate military honour.”  He further added that the Indian Air Force (IAF) ordered a tri service inquiry in the crash incident.  Informing the developments to the Lok Sabha, the Union Defence Minister said, the inquiry team reached Coonoor and started the investigation 

On the 8th of December, Wednesday, an Indian Air Force (IAF) chopper with Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 others died in the crash in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. 

The helicopter with 14 people crashed causing injuries to three people.  The concerned authority launched a search operation to rescue the others onboard.   The injured people are currently being treated at the Wellington cantonment in Nilgiris district, Tamil Nadu. 

Getting into the details, the CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife, defense assistant, security commandos and an IAF pilot were on board in the Mi-series chopper.  The helicopter crashed in between Coimbatore and Sulur in Tamil Nadu.
