Telangana witnessed an overall of 73.2 % voter turnout in the Assembly elections held today. All the parties contested the elections for 119 Assembly seats across the State.
Some major constituencies recorded a massive voter turnout throughout the elections. In Karimnagar, 55.55 % voters turned up, whereas the Huzurabad constituency had 65 % voter turnout.
Hyderabad recorded 48.89 % voters and Jagtial stood at 61.27 %. The other constituencies were Choppadandi with 56.80 % voter turnout, Manakondur with 56.10 % turnout of voters and the Bhadrachalam constituency with a voter turnout of 66 %.
The Korutla Segment secured 59.73 % voters and the Dharmapuri constituency reached 63.52 % voters. The constituencies of Bhongir and Aler of the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district had a voter turnout of 68.73 % and 64.97 % respectively.
The Medak constituency topped the list with a voter turnout of 75.57 %, followed by Thungathurthy, which recorded 73 %. The Sircilla Segment and Vemulawada had a voter turnout of 62.10 % and 58.54 % respectively.
Apart from these, there were 55.25 % voters in Khammam, 61.59 % in Wyra and 61.49 % voters in Bhadradri’s Kothagudem constituency. K. Chandrashekar Rao’s (KCR) constituency, Gajwel, recorded a voter turnout of 61 %.
In 2014, Telangana witnessed a voter turnout of only 41.5 %. Approximately 25.5 % more voters participated in the Telangana Assembly elections of 2018.
The results of Telangana Assembly elections, 2018, will be announced on the 11th of December.
