Unseasonal rain in Telangana brought relief to the citizens, but was trouble for farmers in the State.

In some districts of Telangana, crops were damaged due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms during the last two days.  After scorching heat, the Telugu State of Telangana witnessed rainfall.   Due to the unseasonal rainfall, crops of farmers were damaged, confirmed the local media sources.

Mr. K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on Sunday, the 23rd of April, held a meeting and directed the officials to take up assessment of damages caused to the crops.  He asked the Chief Secretary Ms. Shanthi Kumari to speak to District Collectors and get detailed reports on crop damages.

Notably, this is the second time this summer that untimely rains and hailstorms have damaged crops in parts of Telangana. 

Meanwhile, Mr. Gangula Kamalar, the Telangana Minister for Civil Supplies, on Sunday  visited a few areas in Karimnagar district and inspected fields damaged by unseasonal rains. 

In addition, CM KCR assured that his government would provide 100% compensation.
