Mr. Uddhav Thackeray, the President of the Shiv Sena, announced to move the Supreme Court (SC,) regarding the Shiv Sena Symbol row.

According to sources, on the 20th of February, the Uddhav Thackeray led Shiv Sena faction moved the Apex Court against the decision of the Election Commission of India (ECI.)

Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi mentioned the matter before a Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud.  In the filed petition, the Uddhav Thackeray led Shiv Sena faction demanded an early listing.

However, the Supreme Court (SC) refused to entertain the plea as urgent listing and asked the advocate representing Uddhav Thackeray led Shiv Sena to submit the petition tomorrow as per the procedure.

It is to be noted, on the 17th of February, the ECI gave the Shiv Sena symbol of ‘bow and arrow’ to the Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena faction.  The ECI decision ended the war of symbol between Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde over the original party and its symbol.  The decision has disappointed the Uddhav Thackeray led party leaders and expressed criticism against the ECI and Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Central Government.

In a recent media briefing, Mr. Uddhav Thackeray called out on PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah as ‘Mogambo (a famous villain in Indian Cinema the movie Mr. India) saying, they would be very happy now.  He called the decision to end democracy and lashed out at the Narendra Modi Government.
