Mr. Elon Musk, the Chief  Executive Officer (CEO) of Twitter, announced that no accounts without a subscription will enjoy ‘verified blue tick’ on Twitter.

Starting from today, the 20th of April (Thursday,) the legacy of a blue tick, making half of the users different from others would be available to those who have paid for it.

To begin with, Twitter has already removed the New York Times account’s blue checkmark.

Earlier, Mr. Elon Musk, the Founder of Tesla and new owner of Twitter after a $44 Billion deal, tweeted, “Final date for removing legacy Blue checks is 4/20.”

Notably, after the take over, Elon Musk cut down the manforce to 1,500 from the previous 8,000.  He also fired Mr. Parag Agarwal, the former CEO of Twitter, and other officials at higher position.  In addition, to generate revenue, Musk announced that for blue tick, one needs to pay Rs. 9,400 for one year.

Without tha paid subscription, no user, irrespective of their fame status and background would not be able to enjoy the ‘verified status.”
