Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, shared a post on Twitter and apologized to the victim of the recent Urination incident.

On the 6th of July, Thursday, Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan washed the feet of the tribal man, Dashmat Rawat, who was peed on by Pravesh Shukla, an alleged worker of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)  Although the BJP denied any connection with Shukla, sources claimed that Pravesh Shukla is a representative of the BJP Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Sidhi district, Madhya Pradesh.

The urination on a tribal man sparked controversy in the BJP ruled Madhya Pradesh, including criticism from the opposition, the Indian National Congress.  Furthermore, the washing feet of the tribal man also came two days after the viral video created a ruckus in Madhya Pradesh, questioning the significance of tribals in the BJP led state, and the treatment they get.

Notably, before meeting Dashmat Rawat, the tribal man, Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, his heart was deeply disturbed and filled with pain on seeing the video.  A day after the post, Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Dashmat Rawat, washed his feet and took him to the Smart Park in Bhopal, he then planted a sapling with Dashmat.

Meanwhile, for Pravesh Shukla the viral video resulted in legal trouble, as he was arrested and was charged for several sections and acts.  A first information report (FIR) was filed against Pravesh Shukla under Sections 294 (Obscene acts) and 504 (Intentional insult to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under the Scheduled Caste (SC)/ the Scheduled Tribe (ST) Act. The accused has also been slapped with charges under the National Security Act (NSA.)

The state government on Wednesday demolished parts of a property owned by the accused following the incident.
