Mr. Malla Reddy, the Labour Minister in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) led Telangana Government, criticised the recently held Income Tax (IT) raids at his residence, offices and educational institutions.

Mr. Malla Reddy said, the IT raids are politically motivated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to target the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government in Telangana.  He further alleged brutality and manhandling by the IT officials and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF.)  Mr. Malla Reddy said, his son Mahender Reddy who is currently hospitalised was beaten by the IT officials and CRPF during the raids.

Notably, on the 22nd of November, Tuesday, 50 teams of IT officials launched search operation at the educational institutions run by Mr. Malla Reddy, which is still underway on the second day, the 23rd of November. The raids were carried out amid allegations of tax evasion by Mr. Malla Reddy.
