The Indian Premier League (IPL) fans excitedly witnessed the first match in three years, scheduled at Uppal Stadium on the 2nd of April.

Despite the rise in temperature and soaring heat, the fans did not miss a chance to cheer for Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad.

This was the first match in the city after a gap of three years, as the last IPL match was held in Hyderabad in 2019, before the Wuhan Virus (COVID-19) pandemic broke out.

Speaking of yesterday’s match, the stadium was almost full before the toss and the cheers were loud for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Rajasthan Royals.   Speaking of the crowd, around 29,845 spectators were inside the stadium when the match began and the stands reached their full capacity of 37,731 by the end of the first innings.

Anand, an IT employee who witnessed the IPL match, expressed his excitement and said, “It is fantastic to see my favourite team play live after a long time.  We missed this badly.  Though my favourite player (David) Warner is no longer in the side, I am thrilled to see the Sunrisers play.”

The 16th edition of the IPL started on the 31st of March and is scheduled to conclude on the 21st of May.
