Another incident of cybercrime has been reported in Hyderabad, Telangana on the 17th of March, Thursday.
On Wednesday, the Cyberabad Police reported a cyber fraud, in which a woman from Jubilee Hills, lost an amount of Rs. 91 lakhs. According to sources, a cyber fraudster hacked the cryptocurrency account of the woman and looted a sum of Rs. 91 lakhs. The woman found that her account with the huge amount had been hacked on the 15th of March, and registered a case with the Hyderabad Police.
The Hyderabad Police’s cybercrime wing registered a case and launched an investigation. As per the preliminary investigation, the police suspect someone familiar with the woman’s account to be behind the cyber fraud.
This is not the first case of cyber fraud in the City. Recently, a man also invested in cryptocurrency and was duped with a number of Rs. 30 lakhs and registered a case with the police.
