Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan Arrested Outside Islamabad Court

In breaking news, the Islamabad Police have arrested Mr. Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan.

On the 9th of May, Tuesday, Mr. Imran Khan was arrested outside the premises of the Islamabad High Court.  According to sources, Imran Khan has been arrested during a court appearance in the capital Islamabad over corruption allegations.  Musarrat Jamshed Cheema, a leader of Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf party (PTI,) confirmed Imran Khan’s arrest and called for a party protest.

The party also said Imran Khan went for his biometrics procedure from where he was picked by the Rangers also known as paramilitary forces.

Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, a top police official in Islamabad also confirmed the arrest of Imran Khan in a case related to one Al-Qadir Trust, said to be an organisation working for the betterment of humans in Pakistan.

Notably, the arrest warrant against Imran Khan was issued on the 1st of May, by the National Accountability (NAB.)

Meanwhile, the PTI alleged the ruling government and paramilitary forces for nabbing Imran Khan and torturing Imran Khan’s lawyer.  The leaders shared videos of Imran Khan being arrested and his lawyer being beaten.

Furthermore, a protest has also been called against the arrest of Imran Khan.
