On the 8th of July, Friday, the former Japanese  Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe succumbed to injuries.

On Friday morning Mr. Shinzo Abe was shot at during a stump speech, at market area of Nara city. Getting into the details, during the speech, an unidentified person attacked Mr. Shinzo Abe, who received injured and was rushed to a hospital.  Later, the accused who shot at Mr. Shinzo Abe was arrested by the Japanese police and has been identified as Tetsuya Yamagami, a 41-year-old resident of Nara City.

On the other hand, after hours of undergoing treatment, the former Prime Minister of Japan died at the age of 67.

A Japanese media outlet NHK confirmed the demise of Mr. Shinzo Abe through a Twitter post.  The tweet read, “Officials say former Japanese prime minister Abe Shinzo has been confirmed dead.  He was reportedly shot during a speech on Friday in the city of Nara, near Kyoto.”   Furthermore, the Liberal Democratic Party sources also confirmed the death of Mr. Shinzo Abe.

Meanwhile, highlighting the political career of Mr. Shinzo Abe, he was the longest serving Prime Minister of Japan, between 2006 to 2007, and then again from 2012 to 2020.  He had stepped down from the Prime Minister’s post in 2020 citing health reasons.
