Mr. G. Kishan Reddy, the Union Home Minister for Telangana and a Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader dismissed the allegations of buying the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs.)

On the 27th of October, Thursday, Mr. G. Kishan Reddy said, “TRS MLAs were lured by the BJP is ‘fabricated’ by the ruling TRS and should be seen as an attempt to divert people’s attention from the loss that the TRS is going to suffer in the upcoming Munugode bypoll.”  Mr. G. Kishan Reddy also questioned the investigation process conducted by the Telangana Police and said that the police has not informed whether the money that was said to be found came from the ‘farm house’ or ‘Pragathi Bhavan’.

The statements of Mr. G. Kishan Reddy, targeting the TRS and the Telangana Police was in the view of recent allegations of the KCR Government that the BJP is poaching the TRS MLAs.  In regard this, the Telangana Police also detained three people linked with the BJP and questioned them for the poaching of four TRS MLAs.   The detained people are: 

Mr. Ramachandra Bharati alias S. Satish Sharma from Delhi and Simhayajulu from Tirupati, both said to be temple priests and Nanda Kumar, a businessman from Hyderabad said to be close to a union minister.

The State Police said, they detained the three people during a raid at farmhouse in Aziz Nagar on the city outskirts, when they were trying to buy TRS MLAs and were offering money.  Mr. Stephen Ravindra, the Cyberabad Police Commissioner said the deal could be to the tune of Rs. 100 crores.  Moreover, the four MLAs of the TRS who were being poached by the BJP are: Mr. Rega Kantha Rao, Mr. Guvvala Balaraju, Mr. Beeram Harshvardhan Reddy and Mr. P. Rohit Reddy had alerted police that attempts were being made to lure them to switch loyalties.

Meanwhile, the developments which came ahead of the Munugode by election, created political ruckus in the Telugu State of Telangana.  The TRS leaders staged a protest in Hyderabad against the BJP leaders, against luring the TRS MLAs and playing cheap politics in Telangana.
