The search engine giant Google honors India’s legendary singer Mukesh Chand Mathur with its doodle on his 93rd birth anniversary. Hailing from Delhi, the singer first discovered his singing talent at his sister’s wedding after which he started learning singing.

Mukesh had lent his voice for many of the legendary actors like Raj Kapoor. He has sung a total of around 1,300 songs. The singer won four Filmfare Best Male Playback Award, and three Bengal Film Journalists’ Association Award for Best Male Playback Singer. Mukesh Kumar passed away in United States where he had been to perform in a concert.
Some of the popular melodies of the older times were sung by the singer. The ‘Kahin Door Jab Din Dhal Jaaye’ or “Awaara Hoon” are some of the popular songs sung by Mukesh.
