On Monday, the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) sent a circular that stated strict action against colleges conducting classes during the summer vacations. The TSBIE said the summer vacations were assigned from 29th of March to the 31st of May.

TSBIE Secretary Dr. A. Ashok met with multiple directors of private colleges in the State. Dr. Ashok strictly said no classes will be conducted except for students who are appearing for competitive exams. He further added this was for the students who want to clear doubts with their respective teachers.

This week, the TSBIE send out show cause notices to Narayana and Sri Chaitanya junior colleges for conducting classes during the summer break. Another 10 colleges were given the notice and 8 of them were shut down by the Medchal District Intermediate Education officer.

Junior colleges in the State are known for conducting classes throughout the year. The students are overloaded even during their summer holidays. The Government wants to ensure students are given the much needed break after a long year of studying.
