Hyderabad: After Telangana state government have approved the hike in the salaries for MLA’s and MLC’s, now the TS has decided to gift its legislator’s iPods and iPhones on Tuesday when both houses adopt the Appropriation Bill.
Finance Minister Etela Rajendra will be soon organising a bid dinner for the legislators on 29th March. A special budgetary allocation of around Rs 1.5 crore has been sanctioned by the finance ministry for the gifts.
The 120 MLAs and 40 MLCs (including ministers) will receive gift coupons from the finance ministry that are exchangeable for iPods and iPhones.
Meanwhile, legislative affairs minister T. Harish Rao hosted a dinner meeting at Grand Kakatiya Hotel on Monday night to appraise legislators on the second phase of Mission Kakatiya works.
Earlier, too, in united AP, governments would lavish gifts on legislators.
