The Industries Minister K. T. Rama Rao gave land allotment letters to 18 women entrepreneurs. This is the first kind of initiative in the Country where an industrial park is dedicated to women entrepreneurs. The Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) and the Ficci Ladies Organization (FLO) developed the industrial park.

The park is spread over 50 acres adjacent to the Medical Devices Park in Sultanpur, Hyderabad. The 18 women who received the land allotment letter will set up their separate units at the industrial park.

Different fields of women entrepreneurs were picked from food processing to electronics. Some of the fields include handloom, medical devices, furniture and general engineering.

In the first phase, the companies are expected to bring in investments amounting to Rs. 150 crores. This will also lead to a massive generation of employment.

This is the first time an initiative promoting women leaders has been introduced in India by FLO and the TRS Government. All the companies are owned a 100% by only women.

The Telangana Government has been offering support to a number of organizations with women oriented plans.
