Guntur :19-year-old stripped, beaten to death over suspected rape and murder

Amravathi: A teenager was beaten to death by a mob after accusing him for killing a 19-year-old girl at Adavuladeevi, Guntur.  According to the police, two teenagers, Vemula Srisai and Jonna Pavan Kumar allegedly entered Sk. Jasmin’s house who was alone at home and assaulted her. She tried to safe herself but they tied a belt around her neck and strangled her in the absence of her parents.

Both then hung Jasmin’s body from the hook of a ceiling fan and raised an alarm saying she had committed suicide. The localities gathered at her house grew suspicious after they found few injuries on the girl’s body. They tied the duo to a tree and beat them up.
Police soon intervened and took them to hospital but Srisai died while undergoing treatment. Pavan Kumar remains under observation, doctors said. The body of Jasmin was shifted to the government hospital for autopsy.
