Cause for the Death of 29 at Godavari Pushkaralu

Massive mishap tragedy held at the very first day of the Godavari Pushkaralu at Rajamundry on Tuesday when lakh of people went for the holy dip.

The Andhra chief minister Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the Maha Pushkaralu at Rajamundry at 6:29 along with his family and few other officials. It took over an hour for the chief minister to complete the prayers, soon after that chief minister went to change his clothes in the bus. His convey moved out of the ghat at 8:10 am. After Mr. Naidu leaving the premises the police opened the gates for the devotees who were more than a lakh at a time and waiting since morning 3 am.

29 died at Godavari Pushkaralu

The Godavari Pushkara Ghat at Rajahmundry was extended by 100 meters from 150 to 250 to accommodate more Pilgrims but they were not aware of it and it was not visible to many. This led to the stampede death for 29 and many others were injured.

Since the plastic bags were ban at the ghat, none of the devotes carried water bottles. There was no sufficient medical facilities not even water for the stamped people at their death breath.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted his condolence and Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao mourned the tragedy expressed his condolence to the victims by a statement.
