Press Release by Bangalore University

The Bangalore University had narrowed it down to the 3 people whom it wanted to confer the honour to and Rahul was chosen by the Karnataka Governor and the University’s Chancellor. The institute wanted to honour Dravid with the degree during its 52nd Annual Convocation Ceremony on January 27. But Dravid being the humble human that he is, declined taking the doctorate as he wanted “to earn the degree by accomplishing some form of academic research in the field” before he could take on the honour.
